Hi,

A co-worker told me about your organization, and I think it's absolutely great. I feel very irresponsible sometimes because our school does not teach anything about drugs and alcohol, sex or healthy choices. We just pretend it doesn't exist. I try, but I don't know much myself!

You mention long term sobriety is a prerequisite to becoming a teacher (or counselor?-what's the difference). Does everyone at FCD have to meet this requirement or just the ones I mentioned? I know a friend who has been sober a year, and she is really active in her AA group. She hosts sober parties a lot, and writes for the local paper about our youth and drugs. She'd be awesome! I assume you need a teaching degree?

Now, do you travel around because it sounds like you go all over the place, and even in the same state, lots of the schools lists are very far from each other. Do you stay in hotels, do you have a "home" place? I am sorry if these are stupid questions, but I am fascinated-it sounds like a traveling circus--in a good way! Like you roam the country brings choices and options for kids that have no tools for life. I know that's what I want for my students.

Any other information about your jobs or how you "get ready" for what almost seems...a "show"--are you actors? Can a school request you? I want you to come to our school. That would be awesome.

Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

Deb H.
